Braddon Mendelson is an award-winning playwright and recipient of the “Best New Play” award for Rembrandt Perfected at the 2022 Long Beach New Works Festival. In 2023 he directed the world premiere of Rembrandt Perfected in Santa Clarita, California, where it played to sold-out houses and overwhelming acclaim.

The play is a farcical take on a meeting between inventors Samuel Morse and Louis Daguerre, who devise a ridiculous scheme to identify the first human ever depicted in a photograph. The WaterWay is a musical that recounts the rise of Los Angeles from small pueblo to renowned metropolis, owing to the delivery of water in the early 1900s. He also authored a thriller called Gallows Falls, a ghost story set in Vermont. In addition, his short one-act Old Friends was selected for production at the 2022 Players Theatre Festival in New York. Braddon directed the show, himself.

Braddon began his career in the television industry, where he prompted the presenters on the Academy Award and Emmy Award telecasts. From there, he went on to produce several independent feature films, including the cult classic Boogie Boy.

He also narrates children’s books that come to life with animation, sound effects and music in his read-aloud series, Read Me a Story and directs CineVerses, an award-winning video series he produces with composer/poet Jerry Danielsen. The series presents original poetry in a visual manner, utilizing animation, live action, and music.

Braddon wrote for Sony Television International’s sitcom Ritas Welt (“Rita’s World”). Rated as the top comedy program in all of Germany, the series received the Adolf Grimme Preis. In addition, he wrote, produced, and directed music videos for a variety of top recording artists. 

Braddon attended California State University, Northridge and the prestigious Warner Brothers Writers Workshop. He has one son and resides with his wife in Stevenson Ranch.
